Juniper Networks to build World-Class Science DMZ
In order to optimize its network for high-performance scientific applications, Juniper Networks has announced that Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) has upgraded its network core with the Juniper Networks MX2000 Series 3D Universal Edge Routers. This will enable BNL to strengthen its backbone routing infrastructure with the MX Series.
With support for hundreds of 10GbE interfaces and dozens of 100GbE interfaces, the MX2000 Series router will help enable BNL's network to carry large data flows efficiently, as many flows on BNL's network exceed 100GB. This new capability will be crucial for BNL as it provides computing services for the experiments at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) at BNL, the US-based collaborators in the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, and the collaborators in the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope project.
The MX2000 Series will be showcased at the 2013 Supercomputing Conference.
