
Ricoh India has appointed Noboru Akahane as Director / Non-Executive Chairman of Ricoh, effective from August 3, 2017. This decision has been taken in a Board of Directors meeting held today. He has succeeded Ian Winham, who has resigned from the position with immediate effect.
Before being appointed as Director / Non-Executive Chairman, Akahane was the Corporate Vice-President of Ricoh Company. He was responsible for Internal Controls since April 2017.
Prior to this, he was assigned as President and CEO of Ricoh Imaging Company (formerly known as Pentax Ricoh Imaging Company) from April 2012 to March 2017. He joined Ricoh as an Advisor to its Global Strategy Unit. He was soon given the responsibility to lead Ricoh Imaging globally. Under his able leadership the company launched its first 360 degree spherical camera. He has an experience of over 20 years and gained lot of experience in mergers, acquisitions and corporate recovery.
Another announcement has been done by the Board of Members, Yoshitaka Motomura has been appointed as Non-Executive Director of the company, effective from today. He was holding the position of General Manager, Business Planning Department, Corporate Division of Ricoh Company. He was appointed in this position in April 2017. He also worked in Accounting, Business Planning, Corporate Restructuring and growth programs at Ricoh’s Global Headquarters from 2006-2017.
