Canon Laser Shot LBP 5960
By VARINDIA - 2010-04-08
The Canon Laser Shot LBP 5960 provides unparalleled speed, power and functionality. Fast processing of large and complex documents is further enhanced through expandable onboard memory. LBP 5960 prints 30 ppm (A4 size) in both colour and monochrome and it prints 16 ppm (A3 size) in both colour and monochrome. No warm-up time is required with Canon’s On-Demand Fixing Technology. The first monochrome and colour printouts are ready in 7.5 seconds and 9 seconds, respectively.
Canon LBP 5960 has super image quality. LBP 5960 produces output of unmatched quality, regardless of the document. Users can print extremely sharp and impactful presentations, architectural rengineering diagrams or general office documents at a very high speed. LBP 5960 utilizes an innovative compact 4-in-1 laser beam unit that reaches true 1,200 dpi output in superfine mode for enhanced image clarity and gradients, or fine mode for precise output at 600 dpi.
The Laser Shot LBP 5960 utilizes the same consistent printer driver that Canon developed for the Laser Shot line. By standardizing the driver interface across the Laser Shot – from desktop to production devices –, users need to only familiarize themselves with one universal set of print functions. Each sensitive tab in the printer driver provides graphical icons representing the device, as well as the page layout of the particular print job being submitted. Additionally, the Dynamic Configuration function of the printer driver always displays accurate information on the device’s configuration options and installed paper to eliminate errors. LBP 5960 printer driver is compatible with both Windows and Macintosh environments. LBP 5960 has Canon UFR II Print. This proprietary architecture has been consistently proven to deliver faster output than PCL or PS page description languages for complex documents that include images, graphics and text. The UFR II Controller achieves high-performance printing by automatically distributing data processing between the print driver on the user's desktop computer and the LBP 5960 printer. The intelligent architecture automatically determines the optimal balance of processing by analyzing the layout and graphic components of each page. This unique approach maintains exceptionally high print performance on office documents and PDF files.
Canon has RAPID Fusing System. The long wait for printed output is over since the Laser shot requires no warm-up time from standby mode to produce documents fast. The power of the RAPID Fusing System is in LBP 5960, which uses a special fixing film and ceramic heater unlike traditional roller-fixing devices. RAPID Fusing System provides exceptional image quality with zero warm-up time and reduces first print-out time, while requiring less heat and energy consumption. LBP 5960 has Next Generation Toners. The Colour LBP 5960 uses the new QF (Quick Fixing) Colour Toner. This new oil-less toner has special properties that enable it to melt fast at low temperature and pressure to maintain fast output with Colour RAPID Fusing System.
The LBP 5960 requires less valuable desktop space. Yet, it is able to produce larger format double-sided colour documents with ease. The new 4-in-1 laser scanner in the LBP 5960 uses four individual lasers aimed at one polygon mirror from different angles to expose each beam to the drum. This amazing design is responsible for the compact size of the device because it does not need a separate laser scanner for each image drum.
The LBP 5960 features a remarkably short vertical paper path, resulting in short first print-out times of 7.5 seconds (monochrome) and 9.0 seconds (colour). The short path also contributes to the extremely compact size of the device. LBP 5960 features a standard auto-duplexing function that can save paper costs by printing double-sided documents with non-stop productivity. Using a trayless duplexing design, the LBP 5960 assures high reliability of paper feeding in a very compact size. In addition, Laser Shot LBP 5960 offers options that provide extra paper capacity for even longer continuous operation. LBP 5960 comes with 100-sheet multipurpose tray and 250-sheet cassette tray. The paper capacity can be expanded to a maximum of 2,000 sheets with the addition of up to three optional paper trays. It supports a variety of paper sizes such as A3, B4, A4, B5, A5, LTR, EXE, LGL and can print on paper and cards of varying thickness. Overall, Laser Shot LBP 5960 is a powerful nice product.
