Government soon to hand over 300 acres of land to Foxconn
Large and Medium Industries Minister, M B Patil has said that the electronics maker Foxconn will soon get 300 acres of land as the legal hurdles related to the land were resolved. He also said that in the first phase the company would invest $1 Bn in the plant and will also create 50,000 jobs in the vicinity of the unit.
While responding to a query by Dheeraj Maniraju, MLA of Doddaballapura, he said this at the legislative assembly.
“A total of 300 acres will be given to the company in the ITIR spread over Devanahalli and Doddaballapur taluks. The company would invest around ₹8,500 crore to set up a manufacturing plant. The company can commence construction work soon after the handing over of the land,” Patil said.
He also said that the company had intended to commence the production at the plant by April 2024. The government is facilitating the commissioning of the project which would provide 50,000 jobs, he noted.
Three major and medium industries have come up in Doddaballapur taluk in the last three years. They had invested about ₹110 crore and generated nearly 1,450 jobs, the Minister added.
