Govt announces extension of application deadline for PLI scheme for IT hardware
The government has extended the application deadline for the second phase of the PLI scheme for IT hardware till July 31. The government approved a budgetary outlay of ₹17,000 crore for the scheme in May to boost local manufacturing of IT hardware like tablets and laptops. The scheme is expected to generate an incremental production worth ₹3.35 lakh crore over a period of six years, while aiming to broaden and deepen the IT hardware manufacturing ecosystem in the country.
"The application window for receiving applications under PLI Scheme 2.0 for IT Hardware has been extended till July 31, 2023," an official release said.
The Production Linked Incentive Scheme 2.0 for IT hardware covers laptops, tablets, all-in-one PCs, servers and ultra-small form factor devices.
The Scheme shall extend an average incentive of around 5% on net incremental sales (over base year) of goods manufactured in India and covered under the target segment, to eligible companies, for a period of six (6) years. The Target Segment under PLI shall include (i) Laptops (ii) Tablets (iii) All-in-One PCs (iv) Servers and Ultra Small Form Factor (USFF).
