Can I ride my electric bike?

An electric bike can provide plenty of exercise and many health benefits if you ask exercise expert Marina Agaard.

The electric bike provides good exercise

Riding an electric bike can easily be a good source of exercise. Riding an electric bike basically works the same way as regular cycling and therefore an electric bike has the same health benefits as a non-electric bike. Even if the electric bike engine helps you, you are responsible for more or less of the cycling. Learn more about the benefits of cycling by following this link.

If you want as much exercise as possible, turn off the engine or set it to the lowest setting when you don't need help.

Electric bicycle is good for health

According to exercise expert Marina Aagaard, several studies show that jumping on an electric bike and riding is beneficial. Regular e-biking can lower your blood pressure, and thus lower your risk of cardiovascular disease. It can also help reduce body fat percentage, reduce waist size, reduce body weight and therefore BMI. In addition, an electric bike can help you get better.

Riding an electric bike at a moderate pace burns an average of 300-350 calories per hour. For comparison, on a regular bike, the figure is 600-800 calories. However, calorie burn depends on many different factors and can vary greatly.

Electric cycling is so much better than no cycling at all

Marina Aagard notes that it has been proven that many people are more motivated to take a bike when it is equipped with an engine. With the prospect of a little help when there is a headwind on the bike path, the bike ride feels more manageable. So an electric bike can make you ride your bike more and for longer than you would otherwise. Thus, an electric bicycle can replace a car, bus or train. And it's good for your health.

Electric cargo bike can provide more exercise

Whether an electric cargo bike provides more exercise than a regular electric bike depends on how much load you ride. If you have 2 kids and 5 shopping bags on your ebike bed, this will certainly provide more exercise than if you were riding alone with no load on your regular ebike. So the amount of exercise depends partly on how much the bike weighs and how much weight you put on it, and partly on how powerful the bike's engine is and how much help you get from it.
