IND vs SL: Devdutt Padikkal created history as soon as he made his debut for India, became the first cricketer to do so
The second match of the T20 series between India and Sri Lanka is underway at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. In this match, four players made their T20 debut for India. It includes the names of Chetan Sakaria, Devdutt Padikkal, Rituraj Gaikwad, and Nitish Rana. As soon as opener Padikkal made his debut, he created history in a special case. Padikkal has now become the first cricketer of the 21st century to play international cricket for India.
Although this match was to be played tomorrow i.e. on Tuesday, it was postponed for a day due to spin all-rounder Krunal Pandya being Corona positive. Other players who came in contact with him also did not find a place in this match, due to which Padikkal got a chance to make his T20 International debut. Padikkal played a short but useful inning in this match. He scored 29 runs in 23 balls with the help of one four and one six. His innings ended with Wanindu Hasaranga.
