Telecommunications, has become virtually inseparable from computers: Computers and telecommunications create value together. Any devices which are connected with the IP address can talk to each other, only with the help of telecom connections. The widespread use of various devices over the networks, and in particular the ability to access and control so many aspects of daily life via communications, has meant that it is now essential to build solid security protection into industrial, commercial and consumer products and services and to ensure that sufficient attention is paid to security throughout the entire lifecycle of the product or service.

Mobile devices, for instance, provide a huge area of vulnerability, as do home routers and unsecure mobile apps. If an attack were to occur on a major telecom provider infrastructure, the consequences would be far-reaching, and could potentially impact a whole country, with businesses, consumers and government agencies likely affected
