Capgemini is helping Imerys to design and implement a platform with the capacity to integrate its various business functions including Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality and Master Data –as well as the Business Areas of the Imerys Group across the globe. The unique Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform is based on SAP S/4HANA, an intelligent business software suite.
The implementation of a single ERP platform is a major area of modernization for Imerys, to make its information system more agile, facilitate exchanges of higher-quality data and enable the group to optimize its processes. The company chose SAP S/4HANA as it provides a scalable and flexible integrated solution to handle the complexities of diverse activities, functions and geographies and the full scope of its business transformation project. Implementing SAP S/4HANA is the first step for Imerys to become an Intelligent Enterprise.
During the first phase of the project, spanning 15 months, a joint balanced collaborative team including Capgemini experts and Imerys managers from various businesses and IT departments across the group, will work together to design this new platform that will be implemented by Capgemini.
Pierre Boissonnade, Group Chief Information Officer and Transformation VP at Imerys, says, "This program is key for the acceleration of our digital transformation. With the implementation of SAP S/4HANA as a unique platform, we can expect to optimize further our performance. We have chosen to partner with Capgemini for its strong track record in implementing SAP solutions across the world and its ability to mobilize complementary teams to work on a project, combining proven skills in business consulting, infrastructure management and deep expertise in data.”
Capgemini’s approach to solving complex business challenges, its Accelerated Solutions Environment (ASE) will drive and facilitate the project development by bringing together the key stakeholders from multiple business areas and geographies. Based on an agile and iterative approach, the new operating model is planned to be implemented initially in pilot divisions by the beginning of 2020, ahead of being deployed throughout the Group.
Jérôme Siméon, member of the Group Executive Committee and Managing Director of the France Business Unit at Capgemini, says, "We are very much looking forward to starting this new project with Imerys, a long-standing client, and to accompany them in their transformation. It strengthens further our working relationship which is built on trust between our two companies.”
