EY India has officially announced the appointment of Gaurav Bhalotia as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). With a strong background in artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, cloud computing, and large-scale product innovation, Bhalotia will lead EY India’s technology strategy and innovation agenda. His appointment reflects the firm’s growing focus on AI-driven business solutions designed to help enterprises thrive in the era of rapid technological disruption.
EY India is scaling its AI, GenAI, and data analytics capabilities to meet rising demand from organizations navigating digital transformation. Under Bhalotia’s leadership, EY aims to enhance its portfolio of technology-led consulting services, including supply chain optimization, tax automation, financial reporting, risk management, contract compliance, and enterprise productivity tools.
Currently, EY India employs over 20,000 technology professionals who are actively engaged in developing software-driven solutions across industries such as BFSI, retail, healthcare, e-commerce, and manufacturing. The firm has also made significant investments in cloud-based platforms, automation, cybersecurity, and digital infrastructure to provide smarter, faster, and more scalable solutions.

Leadership and Industry Experience
Bhalotia brings over 20 years of leadership experience in technology innovation, machine learning, and data-driven platforms. Previously, he served as the CTO of Udaan, where he built a strong technology foundation for one of India’s fastest-growing B2B e-commerce platforms. Prior to Udaan, he was Vice President of Engineering at Flipkart, playing a pivotal role in shaping its customer experience platforms, AI-powered product discovery, and web infrastructure.

Gaurav holds a Master’s in Computer Science from the University of California and a BTech from IIT Bombay, underlining his strong academic and professional credentials.
