During its yearly Google I/O conference, Google revealed a new tool that lets users ask friends to make purchases through Google Play. The option, "Ask Someone Else to Pay," attempts to lower the percentage of purchases that are abandoned. In order to complete purchases, users can create payment links and forward them to others; however, they have a 24-hour window of time to act before the link expires.
The new Google Play Store feature is compatible with any apps that make use of Google Play's in-app purchase system, according to a recent article published by Android Authority. To finalise the transaction, click the button to generate a payment link that you may share with the other party.
When a user clicks the button, they are informed that the person making the payment must know their complete email address, that they may view the item they are purchasing and that they can also request a refund.
The new Ask Someone Else to Pay function lets users ask someone who isn't part of their Google family to purchase on their behalf. According to Android Authority, Google calls this a "fantastic way to gift or pay on behalf of a relative or a friend."
According to reports, the feature will be first accessible to Indian users; however, it is unknown if and when the service will be extended to other markets.
