Huawei has welcomed Telecom New Zealand's announcement that it has been selected to build Telecom's network of 4G-capable mobile sites.
"The announcement is a significant milestone for Huawei in New Zealand, and is a strong sign of the confidence in Huawei's technology and its position as the market leader in 4G LTE globally" said Arthur Zhang, CEO of Huawei New Zealand.
"Telecom is an iconic New Zealand company at the heart of the local telecommunications and ICT industry and we look forward to helping Telecom deliver the very best experience to its customers," Zhang further said.
Telecom New Zealand Chief Technology Officer David Havercroft said, "Huawei’s selection was based on two main factors. The first is that they have extensive experience, having built 73 LTE networks in 42 countries. The second is that they are truly pushing the boundaries of LTE technology".
