The homegrown telecom leader also showcased its 5G Massive MIMO radio, XGS-PON-based 10Gbps fiber broadband, and advanced IP/MPLS routers.
In a major push to position India as a global telecom innovation hub, Tejas Networks unveiled its cutting-edge 1.2 Tbps single wave coherent DWDM solution at the Bharat Telecom 2025 conference, organized by the Telecom Export Promotion Council (TEPC) at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi. The launch was officiated by Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister of Communications and Development of North Eastern Region.
This breakthrough product, part of Tejas’s expanding portfolio of advanced telecom solutions, marks a significant milestone in the evolution of India’s telecom equipment ecosystem. With this 1.2 Tbps DWDM India launch, Tejas Networks aims to meet the growing demand for high-capacity data transmission over long distances, driven by rising consumption across 5G, cloud, and enterprise services.
As a pioneer in indigenously developed telecom technologies, the company’s latest offering is poised to transform global telecom networks, supporting operators with scalable and cost-effective optical backbone infrastructure. This aligns with the broader government vision of an "Atmanirbhar Bharat" and highlights India’s growing footprint in next-gen connectivity solutions.
Speaking at the launch, Minister Scindia stated, “It’s a matter of great pride that home-grown companies like Tejas are leading from the front in advancing wireless and wireline networking innovations. Their efforts are placing India firmly on the global telecom map.”
Arnob Roy, COO of Tejas Networks and Chairman of TEPC, remarked, “We are honored to have the Minister inaugurate this landmark product launch. Our new Tejas Networks DWDM solution demonstrates India’s potential in creating world-class telecom infrastructure, reinforcing our commitment to innovation and economic self-reliance.”
Alongside the DWDM system, Tejas Networks also showcased key innovations including its 5G Massive MIMO radio, 10Gbps symmetric fiber broadband (XGS-PON), and high-capacity IP/MPLS routers, further cementing its leadership in both wireless and wireline segments.
