Xiaomi has further expanded it’s offline retail network and inaugurated it’s 2500th Mi Store in India. The company has also emerged as the leader with the largest exclusive brand retail network in India, as per a recent study conducted by Channelplay, a leading retail and channel solution provider.
With the latest Mi Store located in Karnataka, the brand continues to witness rapid expansion in its innovative retail efforts. Xiaomi India now has Mi Stores present across 790+ cities, providing highly accessible yet exceptional brand experience to its customers across the nation. Serving as an extension of the Mi Homes concept, Mi stores are aimed at gaining brand outreach across tier 3 and beyond towns and districts in India, wherein Mi Fans and customers receive the valuable opportunity to explore, experience and buy Xiaomi products under one roof. These stores serve as a prime example of Xiaomi’s innovative new retail concept, marrying the brand’s e-commerce efficiency with engaging retail user experience.
As per Channelplay’s study, Xiaomi emerged as the largest exclusive brand retail network over other competitors like Samsung India, followed by Cafe Coffee Day, Dominos India and Bata India. Xiaomi’s exclusive brand retail network includes Mi Homes, Mi Studios and Mi Stores.
The study also showed that Xiaomi’s retail network was -
* 44% bigger than Samsung India
* 48% bigger than Cafe Coffee Day (CCD)
* 108% bigger than Dominos India and
* 117%+ bigger than Bata India; in terms of exclusive brand retail presence
The study was conducted across 11 industries retailing a physical product such as Apparel, Footwear, Jewellery & Watches, Electronics, Books & Stationery, Sports & Games, F&B/Grocery, Food Service, Florist, Pharmacy, Furniture, Furnishings & Sanitaryware.
Earlier this year, Xiaomi announced that Mi.com became the top single brand online smartphone channel as per Counterpoint Research Market Monitor for Q1 2019. With Channelplay’s validation for Xiaomi’s offline retail network - this makes Xiaomi the leading single brand retail network across online and offline market in India.
Muralikrishnan B, Chief Operating Officer, Xiaomi India commenting on the two successful feats, “We started our offline journey in India in 2017, and our expansion gained momentum in 2018. It has led to a lot of learning and today we have been able to establish the largest exclusive brand retail network in India with our Mi Homes, Mi Stores and Mi Studios. It is humbling to be recognized as the largest in such a short span of time - enabling us to take a premium shopping experience to millions. We have crossed the milestone of 2500 Mi Stores in less than a year across 790+ cities & towns and extremely proud to be bringing the best specs, with highest quality at an honest price with an exceptional retail experience to our Mi Fans in all rural areas.”
