Bentley adds MOSES Analysis Software to Its Portfolio
Bentley Systems has announced that it has acquired the MOSES software business from Ultramarine, including the launch of jackets and float over of topsides. With this newest addition to its portfolio, Bentley further has strengthened its leadership in the accelerating offshore energy industry following its acquisition in March 2011 of SACS, flagship software for the structural design of fixed offshore structures.
David Hollister, CFO, Bentley, said, Bentley’s acquisition and mainstreaming of SACS advanced the breadth of capabilities available for the design of offshore infrastructure for instance, now including wind farms. SACS’ wider adoption and rapid development since becoming a Bentley offering underscores our commitment to the offshore industry. The acquisition of MOSES now extends our software’s capabilities to include the most complex analyses of all types of offshore installation projects. We will be working closely with Ray Nachlinger, Creator of MOSES and CEO of Ultramarine, as we integrate SACS and MOSES to deliver unrivalled FPSO design tools.
Nachlinger said, We, at Ultramarine, are very pleased that MOSES has a new home at Bentley Systems, and I view my new consulting role as an opportunity to accelerate what software can contribute to the creation and deployment of more varied and resilient offshore structures. We have seen how Bentley quickly provided the users of SACS with greater value, and this makes us all the more confident that the Bentley team will do the same for the users of MOSES.
The integration of MOSES and SACS enables unprecedented comprehensiveness in offshore engineering, in particular for the analysis and design of floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) structures.
