The pass is applicable only at NHAI-operated toll plazas and won’t cover tolls on state highways, private toll roads, or state-run expressways, aiming to simplify travel and reduce queue times on national highways.
In a move aimed at making highway travel smoother and more affordable, the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has announced a FASTag Annual Pass priced at ₹3,000, set to launch on August 15, 2025. This latest FASTag 2025 update introduces a subscription-style toll model to simplify commutes for regular travelers on national highways.

Key Features of the FASTag ₹3000 Plan
Validity: 200 toll-free trips or one year from activation — whichever comes first.
Eligibility: Exclusively for non-commercial private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans.
Coverage: The pass is valid only at National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) operated toll plazas.
Exclusions: It won’t apply to tolls on state highways, state-run expressways, or privately managed toll roads.
This new FASTag annual pass initiative is expected to cut down on travel delays, eliminate frequent toll deductions, and significantly benefit daily and long-distance commuters by offering a prepaid, hassle-free travel experience.
With highway traffic steadily increasing, this FASTag new scheme is part of a broader strategy to reduce congestion, especially at high-traffic toll points. The FASTag ₹3,000 plan also promotes digital toll collection and aligns with the government’s push for a cashless, efficient national road network.
For frequent travelers, the FASTag subscription plan provides both convenience and potential savings. Instead of paying per trip, users can opt for an annual solution that covers most of their routine travel. As part of the FASTag August 15 launch, the Ministry is expected to issue detailed guidelines for registration and purchase. The scheme could be a game-changer in making unlimited toll travel simpler for private vehicle owners using NHAI roads.
