Despite AI’s rapid expansion, Indian enterprises struggle with aligning data quality, sustainability, and resilience to meet its growing demands. 58% of IT leaders recognize that AI success depends on high-quality data, yet concerns persist about data adequacy (43%), ethical risks (37%), and workforce readiness (36%)**. These gaps threaten the long-term scalability and impact of AI-driven innovations.
AI's expansion has significantly increased data storage needs, with Indian businesses expecting data volumes to surge by 129% by 2026. However, integrating new AI systems with legacy infrastructure remains a challenge. 21% of IT leaders cite inadequate data infrastructure as a barrier to sustainable AI deployment, limiting the efficiency of AI applications.
A disconnect exists between AI’s potential and actual implementation strategies. While 58% recognize data quality as essential for AI, only 43% actively prioritize high-quality training data, suggesting a lack of emphasis on foundational data governance. Without this focus, AI's effectiveness could be severely compromised.
Unstructured data, making up 70% of India’s data, presents accessibility and quality issues. Only 8% of Indian enterprises actively experiment with AI across all projects, while 5% use controlled environments to test models before full deployment. This cautious approach reflects uncertainties in AI infrastructure readiness.
Sustainability remains a key concern, with 39% of Indian businesses struggling with environmentally responsible AI implementation. Meanwhile, 36% face an AI skills gap, forcing reliance on third-party expertise for data processing and AI development. These challenges highlight the need for strategic infrastructure investments.
