As part of the MoU, Nvidia will support AI curriculum and training to help skill 10,000 engineering students across Andhra Pradesh over two years, strengthening statewide education and building a future-ready technology workforce
The Government of Andhra Pradesh and Nvidia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on creating a cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) University and nurturing a strong AI ecosystem in the state. This partnership aims to position Andhra Pradesh as a leader in AI innovation, education, and entrepreneurship across India.
Under the agreement, both parties will work to skill 10,000 engineering students throughout Andhra Pradesh over the next two years. Nvidia will provide curriculum support and technical training materials to enhance AI education in engineering colleges statewide, helping to build a skilled workforce ready to meet emerging technology demands.
Beyond education, the collaboration focuses on strengthening research and development capabilities. Nvidia will assist in establishing AI research centres dedicated to solving key technological challenges and fostering innovation across industries. Joint research projects are encouraged to expand AI knowledge and practical applications, fuelling technological advancement in the region.
Driving Andhra Pradesh’s AI future
Nara Lokesh, Minister for IT in Andhra Pradesh, highlighted the significance of this partnership, stating, “This collaboration with Nvidia marks a major step toward making Andhra Pradesh a national leader in AI. By empowering thousands of students with advanced AI skills and supporting startups, we are building a foundation for a future-ready economy driven by innovation.”
The MoU also emphasizes developing state-of-the-art computational infrastructure for the AI University. Nvidia will guide the selection of software, hardware, and tools necessary to create a world-class learning and research environment.
Vishal Dhupar, Managing Director of Nvidia Asia South, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, saying, “We are proud to partner with Andhra Pradesh to democratize AI education, boost research, and accelerate startup growth. Our goal is to build a scalable model that inspires similar initiatives nationwide.”
Empowering startups with Nvidia
Additionally, Nvidia will share expertise on AI Factories—innovation hubs that combine industry collaboration and talent development to democratize AI access.
The government plans to support up to 500 AI startups from Andhra Pradesh to apply for Nvidia’s Inception program during the MoU period, providing startups access to Nvidia’s global resources and markets.
This strategic partnership marks a pivotal moment for Andhra Pradesh’s vision to become a centre of excellence for AI research, education, and innovation, fostering sustainable economic growth and technological leadership.
