Amazon.in rebrands Amazon now offering as “Prime Now”

Amazon India has announced an expansion in selection and introduction of ultra-fast delivery on Amazon Now app, rebranding it to Prime Now. Prime Now will provide exclusive Express 2-hour delivery to Prime members anytime between 6 am to midnight (order as late as 10:00 PM for midnight delivery). Same-day and next-day delivery will remain available for all customers, in convenient 2-hour slots from 6 am to 12 midnight.

Prime Now, an app-only ultrafast service, is available to customers in Bengaluru, Mumbai, New Delhi and Hyderabad, catering to the urban family that values convenience. Prime Now has an expanded selection of over 10,000 products with everything a customer may need or desire in hours. This includes selection across categories like Fruits & Vegetables, Grocery, Staples, Meats, and Home & Kitchen fulfilled by Amazon through the Now Store, as well as by supermarkets such as Big Bazaar, Aditya Birla More, and local specialty sellers like Licious and Pescafresh.

The Now Store offers a full range of over 150 Perishable Grocery across Fresh Fruits & Vegetables and Dairy products, that are stored and delivered chilled to a customers’ doorstep to ensure the highest quality and freshness. The selection is updated every season with seasonal fruits like mangoes available in different varieties.

With the introduction of categories like Home & Kitchen, customers can purchase best-selling items from a host of categories including electronics accessories, Home and Kitchen, soft furnishings, small appliances from mixer grinders to induction cookers, and many more. Customers can enjoy “Crazy Deals” on grocery products with up to 30% off. In addition, Amazon Pay will run regular promotional offers for customers who shop on the app.

“On Prime Now, customers can shop for products from our Now Store which is fulfilled by Amazon. We have invested in customized infrastructure of fulfilment centers (FCs) for faster deliveries and chill chains to maintain temperatures at optimum conditions for leafy products and dairy products like curd and paneer. We are encouraged by the strong customer response and quantities ordered have grown by 90% monthly since the launch of the NOW store,” said Siddharth Nambiar – Head of Prime Now, Amazon India.

To meet the delivery promise and on-time performance of Prime Now, Amazon India has 15 fulfilment centers equipped with temperature-controlled zones. Besides this, the Fulfilment centers store kitchen appliances, beauty products and household supplies available on Prime Now. Customers in eligible cities can experience the Prime Now offering by downloading the app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store and sign in with their Amazon account.
