2010-04-02Bloom Electronics is the name that comes to everybody’s mind when one talks about computers in Coimbatore. The concept of supermarket in computer-related products was first conceptualized by Bloom Electronics. It provided a comprehensive solution to all the needs relating to computers. Being one of the oldest in town, Bloom was started way back in the early nineties by S. Kartikeyan, who was then a small-time trader of consumables and stationeries. Over the years, it tasted the success of growth with technological endeavour and slowly graduated to the point of selling its own brand of computers. With an initial investment of mere twenty five thousand rupees, it gradually made its presence felt in that area. This could be seen in the fact that today Bloom has blossomed and has acquired the crowned position to be one of the successful dealers of computers and related peripherals in Coimbatore.
From being a sub-distributor of HP to Star Elite Partner of Samsung, the company has an array of products line, including Sony, TVS-E, Microsoft, Logitech, Western Digital, Seagate, etc. Being a genuine Intel dealer, it has more than 5,000 installations in and around Coimbatore. Being a Star Elite Partner and doing business with Samsung for the past ten years, Kartikeyan wants to expand this relationship further and promises to be loyal the way he has been till today. The main aim of the company is to do good business to customers’ satisfaction. Therefore, quality products and good service support are of paramount importance for the company rather than the mere spread of network. Bloom seems to be in no hurry to expand its business in other geographical areas and enjoys its central position with full pride. At present, thirty-five staff members are working with Bloom – out of which seven are for sales, three for marketing and the rest are in the service centres.
Kartikeyan knows that it is important to educate the public about computers. Hence, he has blazed a trail called “The Bloom Exclusive” – a club aiming to promote awareness about computers among the public. Under this, there are no particular eligibility criteria to become a member. After enrolment, the members are provided with a Membership Card. Seminars with IT-related subjects will be conducted every month. Admission to these seminars will be given exclusively to the members only. They also have service centres which cater to the needs of every individual. Bloom has blossomed with the help of three core factors, namely Quality Products, Excellent Service Support and Competitive Prices. And, it further promises to deliver the same in future. Indeed, “Hard work always pays back”.
