Building on its 2024 acquisition of Carrier’s Global Access Solutions business, including LenelS2, Honeywell’s launch of the 50 Series strengthens its position as a full-spectrum OEM offering integrated security solutions across diverse industry sectors
Honeywell has introduced its new 50 Series line of CCTV products, marking the company’s first camera portfolio to be entirely designed and manufactured in India.
Developed in alignment with the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, the 50 Series cameras are fully conceptualized, engineered, and built within the country. They have received Class 1 certification—the highest level under the government’s ‘Make in India’ framework.
Created to address the growing demand for intelligent, high-quality, and cyber-secure surveillance solutions in the region, the 50 Series was developed at Honeywell’s global R&D center in Bengaluru. Manufacturing is being carried out in collaboration with VVDN Technologies, a leading Indian Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider, which also contributed to the hardware design.
“This launch reflects our commitment to shaping the future of innovative, secure and intelligent security solutions tailored for India. It also reinforces our commitment to the India growth story and is a testament to our deep local engineering capabilities and strong local partnerships,” said Vimal Kapur, Honeywell CEO and Chairman.
To mark the launch of the new series, Kapur met with Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Electronics and IT, Railways, and Information & Broadcasting, in New Delhi. He was joined by senior Honeywell leaders, including Anant Maheshwari, President and CEO of Honeywell Global Regions; Ashish Modi, President of Honeywell India; and Vivek Bansal, Founder and President of VVDN Technologies.
“The Indian economy is growing consistently. We are committed to establish India as a ‘product nation’. These ‘Made in India’ CCTVs are a good step in that direction. We encourage the industry to Design in India, Make in India and Make for the World,” said Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Designed specifically for the Indian market, Honeywell’s 50 Series CCTV cameras offer advanced video analytics for proactive threat detection, superior imaging with gyro sensor-based stabilization, and robust cybersecurity features. These capabilities cater to the evolving security needs of critical sectors such as government, healthcare, education, transportation, commercial enterprises, and real estate. The camera lineup includes a variety of 3MP and 5MP models in both dome and bullet form factors.
The launch of the 50 Series builds on Honeywell’s 2024 acquisition of Carrier’s Global Access Solutions business, which brought in brands like LenelS2 and expanded the company’s portfolio in access control, video surveillance, and mobile credentialing. With the introduction of the 50 Series, Honeywell positions itself as a comprehensive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), capable of delivering end-to-end electronic security solutions across multiple industry segments.
