2012-09-03
IBM and Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) have partnered to design new IT syllabi. VIT and IBM claim to design advanced IT concepts around “big data’’ and cloud computing for B.Tech students as part of this initiative.
According to IBM officials, Organisations across the world are operating in an increasingly complex environment and are taking to ‘Smarter Computing’ - which involves integration of “big data’’ and managing cloud computing services. The availability of job-ready graduates will also help in filling the gap within the IT industry, where fresh graduates take long unproductive time to get deployed on customer sites or projects.”
Alok Ohrie, VP, Systems & Technology Group, IBM India South Asia said, “Today, there is a greater demand for skilled technology professionals and this partnership with VIT will help students equip themselves with the latest technologies for tomorrow.”
