Nvidia has unveiled plans for a massive new campus in Kiryat Tivon, reinforcing Israel’s role as its largest development hub outside the US and positioning the region as a major global center for AI innovation.
US semiconductor giant Nvidia has announced plans to build a large-scale technology campus in Kiryat Tivon, northern Israel, marking one of the company’s most significant international investments to date. The project, expected to span several years, will involve an investment worth billions of shekels. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027, with the first phase of occupancy targeted for 2031.
The proposed campus will cover approximately 22 acres and include around 160,000 square metres of built-up space. Designed by Nvidia’s global architectural team, the facility will draw inspiration from the company’s headquarters in Santa Clara, California. It will feature research laboratories, collaborative workspaces, green areas, and public-facing amenities such as cafés, restaurants, and a visitor centre.
Employment growth and regional impact
Once completed, the campus is expected to accommodate more than 10,000 employees, effectively doubling Nvidia’s workforce in Israel and making it one of the company’s largest global sites. Nvidia is already a leading employer in Israel’s high-tech sector, and the new facility is projected to significantly boost employment, housing demand, and local infrastructure across the northern region.
The site was selected following a competitive evaluation involving several municipalities. Israeli authorities approved the land allocation at a discounted rate, reflecting the strategic importance of the investment. Government clearances required for foreign ownership have also been secured, enabling the project to move forward without regulatory hurdles.
In parallel, Nvidia is reportedly planning a large data centre nearby to support advanced research activities, including next-generation artificial intelligence and large language model development. Together, the campus and data centre are expected to transform the area into a major technology cluster, attracting suppliers, start-ups, and service providers.
Strengthening Israel’s role in global AI development
Nvidia’s presence in Israel has expanded steadily since its acquisition of Mellanox Technologies in 2019. The company’s Israeli teams contribute to critical technologies such as high-speed data interconnects, AI research, robotics, autonomous systems, cybersecurity, and gaming software. Nvidia also operates a supercomputing facility in the country that supports cutting-edge research.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has repeatedly highlighted Israel’s importance to the company’s global strategy, citing the depth of local engineering talent and innovation. Local leaders have welcomed the project, calling it transformative for the regional economy and a strong vote of confidence in Israel’s technology ecosystem.
