PreCise MRM deploys A10 Networks vThunder
2014-05-08To add additional features, scalability, and price / performance, PreCise MRM has deployed A10 Networks 's vThunder virtual appliance to its network.
PreCise MRM's network infrastructure supports hundreds of customers encompassing thousands of active GPS/AVL devices in the field, including those involved in snow and ice removal. The parent company FORCE America offers electronic spreader controllers integrated with PreCise GPS devices and software to provide a leading-edge technology that handles many types of critical situations, coast to coast.
"A10's vThunder solution saved us a lot of time and money. We were really impressed with the company's response time and A10's vThunder worked right out of the box. Putting in this virtual appliance was a very quick way to do a proof of concept and we can now effectively load balance incoming and outgoing traffic which utilizes multiple communication protocols. My only regret is not giving A10 a chance sooner," said Michael Schlag, Product Manager, PreCise MRM.
The IT teams from both FORCE America and PreCise spent several months evaluating vendors. Their requirements included a solution that performed well while supporting existing applications, scalability for future needs, and excellent price/performance. The teams selected A10's vThunder due to the benefits of rapid deployment (vThunder images allowed download and fast deployment to virtualized infrastructure), high-performance without feature limitations, and dynamic provisioning/operation.
