Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) today announced a joint venture (JV) with Meta to develop and scale enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) platforms and solutions for India and select global markets. The partnership aims to democratize enterprise-grade AI for Indian businesses of all sizes, from SMBs to large corporates.
Under the agreement, RIL will hold a 70% stake and Meta 30%, with both companies committing a combined ₹855 crore (~US$100 million) in initial capital. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals.
The JV will leverage Meta’s Llama open-source models and Reliance’s digital backbone to deliver:
-
Enterprise AI Platform-as-a-Service: A secure, full-stack environment enabling organizations to customize, deploy, and govern generative AI for workflows in sales, marketing, IT operations, customer service, and finance.
-
Pre-configured AI Solutions: Sector-specific and cross-functional tools designed for rapid deployment at scale.
By combining Llama’s proven scalability and cost efficiency with Reliance’s market reach, the JV will offer AI solutions at affordable price points. Deployment will be flexible across cloud, on-premises, and private infrastructure, allowing proactive cost management.
Shri Mukesh D. Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of RIL, said: “This partnership with Meta will democratize enterprise AI for Indian organizations, enabling innovation, efficiency, and global competitiveness. Reliance will also act as a real-world enterprise-scale environment to refine our offerings at speed.”
Mark Zuckerberg, Founder and CEO of Meta, added: “We’re excited to bring Llama models into real-world use for Indian developers and enterprises. This JV expands Meta’s footprint in enterprise AI as we unlock new opportunities together.”
Reliance Industries Limited, India’s largest private company, continues to rank among the world’s most influential corporations, with leadership across energy, retail, digital services, and advanced materials.
