Rubrik announced a sweeping expansion of its cyber-resilience and AI operations portfolio at Microsoft Ignite 2025, introducing Intelligent Business Recovery for Microsoft 365, new DevOps Protection capabilities for Azure DevOps and GitHub, and a fresh integration between Rubrik Agent Cloud and Microsoft Copilot Studio. The launches position the company to address both escalating cyber threats and the rapid adoption of enterprise AI agents.
The company said its new Microsoft 365 recovery offering aims to solve a longstanding gap in traditional backup tools, which often restore individual workloads without considering how critical users and data interconnect across applications. Rubrik’s Intelligent Business Recovery brings what it calls “business-aware restoration,” automatically identifying key users, analyzing their essential workflows across Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams, and restoring the minimum viable set of data needed to keep the organization operating. Rubrik said the approach can dramatically shrink downtime following a cyberattack or major outage, allowing teams to stay functional while full recovery continues.
The company also moved to close security gaps inside software development environments, unveiling new DevOps Protection for Azure DevOps and GitHub. Rubrik said the rise of AI-generated code and recent high-profile breaches have exposed the limitations of native platform security. The new service provides immutable, air-gapped backups of source code, CI/CD pipelines and other development assets, along with rapid granular recovery and enterprise-grade controls such as Retention Lock and Quorum Authorization. According to Rubrik, this gives organizations a unified platform to safeguard intellectual property and development workflows against ransomware, insider threats and flawed AI-generated code commits.
In a parallel announcement, Rubrik introduced a major integration between Rubrik Agent Cloud and Microsoft Copilot Studio, positioning the company as a key enabler of secure large-scale AI agent adoption. As enterprises deploy AI agents to automate tasks and access sensitive business data, Rubrik Agent Cloud will automatically discover, monitor and govern agents built in Copilot Studio or running across Microsoft 365. The system continuously evaluates agent behaviors, enforces guardrails and maintains immutable audit trails, giving IT and security teams real-time control over rapidly proliferating agents.
The platform also incorporates Rubrik’s Agent Rewind capability, enabling organizations to instantly roll back harmful or unintended actions taken by AI agents—an emerging risk as autonomous tools gain more operational authority. Rubrik described this as the industry’s first precise, time-based remediation system for agent-driven changes.
Executives emphasized that the announcements reflect the company’s strategy to sit at the intersection of data protection, cyber resilience and enterprise AI governance. “When outages occur, it can take an enterprise weeks—or even months—to get their teams back online,” said Anneka Gupta, Rubrik’s Chief Product Officer. She said the new offerings apply Rubrik’s AI and cyber recovery capabilities to both core business workflows and critical DevOps assets.
Devvret Rishi, General Manager of AI at Rubrik, said organizations urgently need better controls as AI agent adoption accelerates. “IT and security teams are challenged to multiply the use of AI agents while managing the compounding risk they present,” he said. The integration with Copilot Studio aims to give joint customers “clarity and control without adding complexity or chaos.”
The new solutions underscore a broader shift in enterprise priorities as organizations confront simultaneous pressures: rising cyberattacks targeting Microsoft 365 and DevOps environments, and the operational uncertainty introduced by fast-growing AI automation. Rubrik said its expanded platform is designed to help companies maintain resilience on both fronts—protecting identities, data and workloads while enabling AI transformation at scale.
All three offerings will roll out in the coming months, with early access available for select customers, the company said in a statement.
