Venu Lambu appointed CEO and MD of LTIMindtree as Debashis Chatterjee retires

The company now enters a new phase under Venu Lambu, who is expected to build on the strategic direction set by his predecessor while steering LTIMindtree through its next phase of growth in the dynamic global IT services landscape

LTIMindtree has announced a significant leadership transition with the retirement of Debashis Chatterjee as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, effective at the conclusion of the company's 29th Annual General Meeting on May 30, 2025. Chatterjee cited personal reasons for stepping down after a tenure marked by transformation and growth.

Following this announcement, the company’s Board of Directors has appointed Venu Lambu, the current CEO Designate, as the new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director effective May 31, 2025. Chatterjee has been working closely with Lambu in recent months to ensure a smooth leadership handover and continued strategic momentum.

Debashis Chatterjee, fondly known within the organization as “DC,” had served as CEO and MD of Mindtree since 2019, and later took the helm of the merged entity LTIMindtree following its formation in November 2022 through the merger of Mindtree and L&T Infotech. Under his leadership, the company grew into India’s sixth-largest IT services firm by revenue, driving integration, innovation, and global expansion.

The Board expressed deep appreciation for Chatterjee’s leadership and impact on the company’s trajectory. “It is with deep appreciation that we bid farewell to Mr. Debashis Chatterjee, whose leadership has been instrumental in propelling LTIMindtree to new heights,” said S. N. Subrahmanyan, Chairman of LTIMindtree. “He is a fantastic person with immense knowledge and intellectual depth. We are grateful for his invaluable contributions and wish him success in his future endeavors.”

Reflecting on his journey, Chatterjee said, “Leading this organization from its formative days has been an honor, and I take immense satisfaction in the foundations we've built for future success.
