Infineon India has signed an MoU with DPIIT to support engineering students, startups, and innovators by providing access to its advanced technology platforms through design challenges tailored to address India’s specific innovation needs
India’s rapidly growing semiconductor landscape has found a committed partner in Infineon Technologies, a global leader in power semiconductors and IoT. Through a series of impactful collaborations and strategic partnerships, Infineon India is playing a key role in advancing the country’s innovation ecosystem, especially in sectors like electromobility, IoT, and smart healthcare.
With a strong emphasis on supporting local innovation and entrepreneurship, Infineon has aligned itself with major Indian government initiatives such as Startup India, NITI Aayog, and MeitY. These partnerships aim to bolster the Make in India vision by nurturing a robust startup environment in electronics and microelectronics.
Driving innovation through government partnerships
In a major step towards this vision, Infineon India recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). The MoU seeks to empower engineering students, product innovators, and startups by facilitating access to Infineon’s advanced technology platforms through targeted design challenges relevant to India’s unique needs.
“We are committed to empowering India's startup ecosystem in microelectronics,” said Vinay Shenoy, Managing Director of Infineon India. “Partnerships such as the MoU with DPIIT allow us to work with innovative startups, giving them access to state-of-the-art technologies and our local and global networks.”
The company has also worked closely with leading incubators such as IISc Bangalore’s Foundation for Science Innovation & Development, the IIT Madras Incubation Cell, and Artpark, supporting various government and industry-led startup programs.
Accelerating startups in e-mobility and smart healthcare
Infineon’s co-innovation efforts extend into impactful collaborations with startups such as e-Drift Electric, EYDelta, and Mimyk. These partnerships address key sectors such as electric vehicle infrastructure, drone technologies, and healthcare monitoring.
e-Drift Electric is leveraging Infineon’s Si-SiC-MOSFET technology to build energy-efficient EV charging modules. EYDelta is accelerating production of electric motors and controllers across e-mobility and aerospace, using AI-based diagnostics and cloud integration. Meanwhile, Bengaluru-based Mimyk, a spinout from IISc, is utilizing Infineon’s microcontrollers for advanced metabolic health tracking devices.
These collaborations not only enhance product innovation and sustainability but also help Indian startups scale faster and contribute to a smarter, cleaner future. Through its sustained efforts, Infineon continues to catalyze India’s transition into a global semiconductor and deep-tech powerhouse.
