The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a high severity alert for iOS, iPadOS and macOS users soon after the iPhone 16 launch.
The cyber security watchdog warns that apart from accessing sensitive information, these vulnerabilities can be used by attackers to “bypass security restrictions, cause denial of service (DoS) conditions, bypass authentication, gain elevated privileges and perform spoofing attacks on the targeted system."
The warning highlights vulnerabilities that could allow attackers to exploit the system remotely. These security flaws may potentially lead to issues such as unauthorized code execution, data leakage, or denial of service.
CERT-In said it has found multiple vulnerabilities on iPhones, iPads, and Macs, urging users to update to the latest software. Affected users are advised to update their devices to the latest versions of the operating systems, as Apple has released security patches addressing these vulnerabilities. Ensuring that your devices are up to date with the latest software is critical to protecting against potential threats.
The alert serves as a reminder for users to stay vigilant and maintain proper cybersecurity hygiene.
