Bharti group’s tower and infrastructure arm Bharti Infratel announced reappointment of Devender Singh Rawat (D.S. Rawat) as its MD and CEO till September 30.
“The Board of Directors of the Company, in its meeting held today i.e. March 30, 2020, has re-appointed Mr. D S Rawat as Managing Director & CEO of the Company for a period of up to six months i.e. w. e .f. April 1, 2020 up till September 30, 2020 or up till the ensuing Annual General Meeting of the Company, whichever is earlier,” Bharti Infratel said in a filing to the stock exchanges.
Rawat had earlier told the Board of Directors that he does not wish to continue as the MD and CEO post the merger of Bharti Infratel and Indus Towers but would continue in a senior role in Bharti group.
“He would continue to be the MD and CEO of Bharti Infratel Limited till the merger is completed and would be actively engaged in ensuring smooth integration of the two entities,” the company had said in an exchange filing last year.
