Google has unveiled ‘Gemini for Government’, a new AI-driven platform designed to support the U.S. government’s modernization efforts, in partnership with the General Services Administration (GSA). The initiative aligns with the next phase of the GSA’s OneGov Strategy and President Trump’s AI Action Plan, marking a major step in bringing advanced, secure AI capabilities into federal operations.
Building on Google’s earlier government-focused Workspace discounts, the package offers a comprehensive AI suitethat includes: enterprise search, video and image generation, NotebookLM, out-of-the-box AI agents for deep research and idea generation, and tools for employees to create custom AI agents. Priced at less than $0.50 per agency per year, the initiative aims to deliver affordable access to Google’s flagship AI models and platforms.
“GSA is delivering on the President’s AI Action Plan and helping agencies access powerful American AI tools to create a more efficient, responsive government,” said Josh Gruenbaum, Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner, praising the partnership with Google.
Three Pillars of ‘Gemini for Government’
1. Enterprise Platform with Choice and Control
Agencies gain access to an AI Agent Gallery, pre-built and customizable agents, and agent-to-agent communication protocols. The system integrates with Google Cloud’s Vertex AI, enabling agencies to train and ground their own models while maintaining scalability and user access controls.
2. Super-Powered Security
Backed by Google’s global cybersecurity infrastructure, the offering comes with FedRAMP High authorization, SOC2 Type 2 compliance, built-in threat protection, IAM, AI-driven security, and integration with third-party solutions at discounted government rates.
3. Transformation Partnership
Designed to fit within government procurement workflows, the program provides transparent pricing, predictable value paths, and support under the OneGov Strategy, ensuring agencies can future-proof their AI investments.
By combining AI innovation, enterprise-scale security, and procurement alignment, Google positions itself not just as a vendor but as a long-term transformation partner for U.S. government agencies. With Gemini for Government, Google aims to streamline federal operations, strengthen cyber resilience, and accelerate AI adoption across the public sector.
