Industry-Academia Partnership announced
2012-09-08Mahangar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) and Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research (WeSchool) have announced their strategic alliance to launch two new management courses for Telecom sector. A Memorandum of Association (MoU) is signed in between WeSchool and MTNL–CETTM (Center for Excellence in Telecom Technology and Management), a Government of India enterprise.
Prof. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool, “We are highly privileged to be the first Business School to join hands with MTNL to introduce specialized management programmes for Telecom sector. In these niche courses, not only an appreciation of general management principles is cultivated, but marketing and inter-linkages between telecom markets will also be explored. We believe that our initiative with MTNL will help create the required talent pool while contributing to the overall growth of the telecom industry and in turn boost national economy”.

CETTM’s mission has been to provide quality training to enable professionals to acquire knowledge and skills to perform effectively in the rapidly advancing telecom sector. Peeyush Agarwal, Executive Director, MTNL said, “At CETTM, we aim at providing training of international standards and create and develop knowledge through applied and concept research in Telecom Technology and Management. We look forward to this association with WeSchool and hope to train the skilled workforce which would cater to the demands of the telecom industry.”
