Karnataka has announced a ₹100 crore fund to support India’s top 50 AI startups, strengthening its leadership in innovation and deep tech. The initiative, unveiled by IT Minister Priyank Kharge at CII INNOVERGE 2025, will be formally launched at the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025 under the "Future Makers" track—aimed at showcasing 20,000 startups.
The fund will boost AI adoption across key sectors like agritech, aerospace, healthcare, and finance, helping startups scale globally. Karnataka, home to 40% of India’s R&D talent and 48 of the country’s 110 unicorns, is positioning itself as a hub for AI excellence.
Kharge outlined the “3P model” — People, Policy, and Participation, ensuring collaboration between academia, entrepreneurs, and government. To further decentralize innovation, ₹1,000 crore will be invested in regional tech clusters across Mangaluru, Mysuru, Hubballi-Dharwad, and Belagavi.
These efforts reflect a strategic push beyond Bengaluru, aiming to build inclusive, future-ready ecosystems. As AI reshapes industries globally, Karnataka’s proactive approach in funding, policy, and infrastructure gives it a competitive edge in India’s digital future—solidifying its role as a leader in tech-driven transformation.
