Techno Electric & Engineering Company Ltd. (TEECL) has announced the launch of Techno Digital Infra Pvt. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary dedicated to building next-gen digital infrastructure in India. Marking a major milestone in TEECL’s digital transformation, this new venture in 2025 comes with a planned investment of USD 1 billion, targeting a pan-India network of hyperscale and edge data centers with a cumulative capacity of 250 MW.
This move aligns with the Government of India’s Digital India initiative and aims to close the digital divide by delivering scalable and secure data infrastructure across metros and remote regions.
Rooted in its proven expertise in EPC and power infrastructure, TEECL’s Techno Digital platform focuses on sustainable and efficient infrastructure. The first facility—a 36 MW hyperscale data center in Chennai’s SIPCOT IT Park—will feature cutting-edge sustainability solutions like Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), adiabatic cooling, and a projected PUE of 1.35. With future centers planned in Kolkata and Noida, Techno Digital is positioned to become a key enabler in India’s data economy.
“India’s data economy is booming, and Techno Digital is our national mission to bridge the digital divide,” said Padam Prakash Gupta, Managing Director, TEECL.
In a major boost to its edge strategy, TEECL has also partnered with RailTel Corporation of India Ltd to develop edge data centers across 102 cities in 23 states—one of the country’s largest digital infrastructure rollouts. These centers will support critical sectors like AI, BFSI, OTT, e-governance, and healthcare, delivering low-latency, energy-efficient computing closer to end-users in Tier 2 and 3 cities.
“Our hybrid hyperscale-edge model is built for the next decade of digital growth,” added Amit Agrawal, President of Techno Digital.

“From AI workloads and 5G to cloud-native applications, we’re enabling India to process data where it’s consumed, reducing latency, energy use, and cost. Our edge deployment model is not just technically superior, it’s a complete ecosystem that encompasses all aspects of a digital infrastructure. We are honoured to be RailTel’s trusted partner in this national mission,” said Ankit Saraiya, Director & CEO, Techno Electric & Engineering Co. Ltd.
With this landmark TEECL Techno Digital launch, the company is not just building infrastructure, but laying the foundation for a digitally empowered India, making TEECL’s $1 billion investment a transformative leap in the nation’s digital journey.
