As per news report, Cisco has roped in Sameer Garde as President, India and SAARC operations. He has succeeded Dinesh Malkani. Sameer will take over the responsibilities from August 1, 2017. Sameer will be responsible for top-level external engagement which includes government and industry associations.
Malkhani is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities, but he will be associated with the company as a strategic advisor till September 2017 to ensure a smooth and orderly transition.
The news report also reveals that, according to Sameer, Cisco’s focus in India is to maintain the pace and also to be the strategic partner for companies and government. He added that Cisco will continue focussing on India through investments in innovation, skills training and digital transformation. He also mentioned that the company is witnessing growth across service providers, bank and financial institutions and the government.
Prior to joining Cisco, Garde has been in the advisory role to start-ups, including CtrlS Datacentres Ltd, IQLECT, BonOrganik and Shotang India.
