Why is Blue Whale app is allowed on-line

When everyone are aware of the fact and depth of the killer game “Blue Whale app) could bring disaster to live of a human life by hypnotising while you play the game and the blue Whale Challenge has been headline in the news for a while now, there are many teens have committed suicide after following 50 tasks suggested by the game.

A report says, the game was created by a 22-year-old Russian named Philipp Budeikin who, in an interview, confessed that he was directly responsible for at least 17 teenagers in Russia committing suicide. Budeikin was arrested in May this year and was sentenced to three years in prison.

Some media reports say that participants are required to send photos to a “curator” or a “whale” proving they did the tasks. The “whale” is often an older person who is manipulating them and does not do the tasks themselves.

What is such a nuisance task:

* Go to a roof and stand on the edge.

* Stand on a bridge.

* Climb a crane.

* At this step, the “curator” somehow checks to see if the participant is trustworthy.

* Talk with a “whale” on Skype.

* Sit down on a roof with legs dangling over the edge.

* Another job that is in code.

* A secret mission

* Meet with a “whale.”

* The “curator” assigns a date that the person will die.

* Visit a railroad.

* Do not talk with anyone all day.

* Give an oath/vow about being a whale

The challenge soon became an internet phenomenon and spread to other countries. The suicide of a 14-year-old Mumbai teenager was suspected to the first case of Blue Whale Challenge-related suicide in India. A few other cases, from different parts of India, were reported -- one Dehradun, one from West Bengal, one from Pune and another one from Kerla . However, in all these cases, sources close to teenagers confirmed that they mentioned Blue Whale Challenge and taking it up. The player is also asked to share photos after finishing the challenge.

A million dollar question is what kind of verification done by the Internet companies such as Google, Facebook, Whatsapp while promoting the Blue Whale app/links.

The government has directed internet majors Google, Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, Microsoft and Yahoo to immediately remove the links of dangerous online game Blue Whale Challenge, which has led to suicide of children in India and other countries.

The Blue Whale challenge is reportedly a suicide game in which the player is given certain tasks to complete for a period of 50 days and the final task leads to suicide. Instances of children committing suicide while Blue Whale Challenge have been reported in India. You are hereby requested to ensure that any such link of this deadly game in its own name or similar game is immediately removed from your platform,” the Ministry of Electronics and IT(Meity) said in a letter dated August 11 to the internet majors.

The letter was issued following instructions from law and IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, an official source said. Expressing concern on availability of such deadly game on internet, the ministry said, “it is understood that an administrator of the game uses social media platform to invite /incite children to play this game, which may eventually lead them to take extreme steps for self inflicting injuries including suicide”.
