Apple launches iOS 15.5 Beta 3
2022-04-28After the launch of the second beta, Apple has released iOS 15.5 beta 3 to developers. iOS 15.5 comes after iOS 15.4, which included Face ID support despite wearing masks, additional emoji, unified control support on iPad & Mac, and more.
Minor internal changes, as well as upgrades to the Wallet app, Apple Cash, HomePod, and the App Store, are included in iOS 15.5. Universal Control on iPadOS 15.5 beta 1 is incompatible with macOS Monterey 12.3.
The biggest functional changes in the 15.5 beta are the inclusion of ‘Send’ and ‘Request’ buttons for the Cash section of Apple Pay, saving a few steps for those transactions, and tweaks to the Memories function of Photos.
Other changes include the iTunes Pass feature for Wallet being renamed Apple Balance. The iOS 15.5 second beta created a separate card in Apple Wallet for Apple Balance, similar to how a credit card shows up in your Wallet.
iOS 15.5 could be the final big update to iOS 15 as Apple expects to introduce iOS 16 at WWDC in June. Developers can get the new iOS 15.5 beta 3 release via an over-the-air update in the Settings app.
