In its ‘Far Out’ event, Apple launched its coveted iPhone 14 series along with a new Watch Series 8, Watch Ultra and the next generation of AirPods Pro. Apple is also bringing emergency SOS via Satellite connectivity, but only for US and Canada as of now.
The sale begins from September 16 for iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The iPhone 14 starts at Rs 79,900 and the iPhone 14 Plus goes on sale starting from October 7, priced at Rs 89,900. The iPhone 14 Pro starts at Rs 1,29,900 while the iPhone 14 Pro Max at Rs 1,39,900.
While the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus continue with the older A15 Bionic chipset, Apple is improving the camera and adding safety features like crash detection to these. It is also removing the SIM tray from the US models of the iPhone 14 series.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 Pro sports a new ‘dynamic island’ notch, which will change based on the activity that the user is doing or the app they might have opened. For instance, when the music app is open, the notch will display a different kind of animation. The iPhone 14 Pro gets a 48MP main camera.
The Apple Watch Series 8 now has a body temperature sensor to help women know when they are ovulating. It also comes with crash detection when driving and supports international roaming. Apple Watch Series 8 starts at Rs 45,900 for the GPS version. It will be available for pre-order today and the sale starts on September 16. Apple has also revealed the Watch SE 2 as well which will cost Rs 29,900.
The new Apple Watch Ultra comes with a special 49mm case, making it one of the biggest displays on an Apple Watch. Apple Watch Ultra will cost Rs 89,900 and will go on sale on September 23. The Apple AirPods Pro 2 were also launched with Spatial Audio, a new H2 chip and advanced noise cancellation. The AirPods Pro 2 will cost Rs 26,900.
