Apple Will Not Have Tariffs Waived: Trump

President Trump had refused to waive tariffs on Mac Pro and expects Apple to build a plant in Texas. Despite Apple's CEO Tim Cook meeting with Trump last month.
Tariffs were placed on numerous technology elements earlier this year, prompting many companies to pull their supply chains out of China or absorb the costs themselves. However, tech-giant Apple asked for waivers on tariffs on the Mac Pro, saying that it wanted to be exempt on some parts it uses for the computer.
"There are no other sources for this proprietary, Apple-designed component," the company said in a filing. The President will not grant any relief on Mac Pro parts in China. While the requests were posted on July 18th in response to a tariff relief policy promised by President Trump, it seems that the U.S. President has already taken to Twitter to categorically deny Apple’s request. Where the key parts of which are currently subject to a 25 percent duty, along with accessories like the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad.
The company addresses the tariffs on its products last month, claiming that it will reduce its contribution to the U.S. economy and lower its global competitiveness.
