Amazon Web Services (AWS) has named Doug (Dong Hoon) Yeum as the new Head of Global Channel and Alliances as long-serving Chief Terry Wise takes on a new role.
Wise has been named AWS Vice President of Worldwide Partners and US Western Region Sales so Doug (Dong Hoon) Yeum steps into his former role.
Prior to AWS, Yeum spent six and a half years with Google, where he held a variety of roles, his final being as Managing Director for Google Korea. Yem’s tenure at Google saw him lead the business with a focus on YouTube and mobile, which led to Korea becoming the fastest growing market for Google in Asia Pacific.
Since 2014, Yeum is associated with the biggest cloud provider. He then moved to Seattle take on his current role as CEO Andy Jassy’s Technical Advisor in December 2017.
He has previously led South Korean IT consultancy firm Xfiniti, and held roles at investment bank BNP Paribas and management consultancy A.T. Kearney.
Whereas, Terry Wise became Head of Global Alliances and Channel in 2008 and is said to have spent the 15 years previously working at a number of start-ups. He is credited with growing AWS’ partner network to a global ecosystem of resellers, managed service providers (MSPs) and independent software vendors (ISVs).
