Capillary Technologies is a software product company that provides cloud-based Omnichannel Customer Engagement solutions for retailers and brands. Since 2008, Capillary has been at the forefront of constant innovation in consumer experiences. Initially, Capillary co-founders Aneesh Reddy, Ajay Modani, and Krishna Mehra identified that the biggest challenge in the retail space was the inability to capture customer data, identify consumers visiting their stores and to effectively communicate with them. They started as a product company and their first product was aimed at creating a loyalty program solution for retailers, which was built on the cloud. Capillary now has an employee strength of 800 plus people with customers present in 30 plus countries, primarily in the Asian region. They work with 400 plus brands, and some of the leading brands that run on their platform are Pizza Hut, Starbucks, Madhura Garments, Landmark Group etc. As of now, they have about 300 million consumers, and 35,000 plus stores on their platform.
Built on a cloud platform, the Capillary’s CRM solution enables brands to identify and understand each consumer, and push offers and other communication to their mobile phones. Their products also enable retailers to run card-less, mobile-first loyalty programs, thus closing the loop on customer acquisition, engagement, and retention.
Capillary’s platform can enable transactions, across ecommerce, offline stores, and mobile platforms. All of the data can be brought into the Capillary system and one can run analytics to gather insights. One can also execute real time bound promotional events, loyalty programs, customer engagement campaigns across different channels, including SMS, email, and push notifications.
One of their major customers, Madhura Garments is running their entire customer engagement model on Capillary’s platform. They capture their customers’ transaction data and define their loyalty program based on consumption patterns. This gives them a single view of their business and helps enhance their customer experience.
Capillary has been running on the AWS cloud since its inception, which is over a decade now.
Now, Capillary is present in five different AWS regions. They run thousands of servers and store hundreds of terabytes of data in the AWS Cloud. Their customers require high availability times and they are using AWS Cloud to deliver close to 99.98% availability for their software suite. They are also leveraging AWS APIs to automate their systems. This allows them to scale up and down, keeping costs optimum.
AWS has built multiple offerings, which have helped Capillary drive costs down and increase overall revenue. AWS has constantly upgraded its machine learning offerings and has made it available and accessible to all with its low pricing and easy to use features. AWS has Availability Zones in Mumbai, India and has been a pioneer in the cloud space. As part of AWS’s partner network, Capillary has seen the tremendous value that AWS continues to bring to their business, and their customers and their customers’ customers.
