
On Wednesday, at around 12 p.m. ET Facebook and Instagram users reported FaceBook & Instagram are very slow and getting issues while logging in and loading posts on their feed which is persisted on Thursday morning as well.
“We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible,” the official Twitter handle of Facebook stated in a tweet.
Instagram, meanwhile, tweeted: “We know this is frustrating, and our team is hard at work to resolve this ASAP.”
The outage not only affected people in the U.S. but also Central and South America Europe and Australia, according to Down Detectorthis link opens in a new tab.

Angry users expressed their frustrationthis link opens in a new tab on Twitter writing, “There is some serious problem with Instagram. Suddenly it stopped working. Can’t send any messages. Got logged out. Can’t sign in. Trying to reset password. But it’s not working.”
“Yo Facebook & Instagram, you done with not working today? I have s–t to do,” another user tweetedthis link opens in a new tab.
However, the social networking site did confirm that the outage was not a result of a distributed-denial-of-service attackthis link opens in a new tab, which is a malicious attempt to disrupt normal traffic of a targeted server, service or network by overwhelming the target or its surrounding infrastructure with a flood of Internet traffic.
“We’re focused on working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, but can confirm the issue is not related to a DDoS attack.”
Other apps owned by Facebook including, Messenger and WhatsApp are also down for users.
A representative for Facebook told PEOPLE they’re still working “to resolve the issue.”
At this time, Facebook and its family of apps are still down.
Facebook in a statement said, "Company is aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps".
