E-commerce giant Flipkart has announced the closure of its subsidiary ANS Commerce, leading to the layoff of its workforce. Acquired in 2022, ANS Commerce specialized in end-to-end e-commerce solutions, including marketing tools, warehousing, and logistics. However, after a strategic review, Flipkart has decided to wind down its operations.
Flipkart has assured that it is committed to supporting affected employees through internal job opportunities, outplacement services, and severance packages. While the exact number of impacted employees remains undisclosed, ANS Commerce had around 600 employees as of FY2022. Flipkart is working to ensure a smooth transition for employees and customers.
As part of its continued focus on innovation, Flipkart Ventures has invested in five startups through the third cohort of its Flipkart Leap Ahead (FLA) accelerator program. The selected startups operate in AI, deep tech, and logistics, aligning with Flipkart’s technological ambitions. Each startup will receive up to USD 500,000 in equity investment, along with mentorship from Flipkart leaders in business, technology, and finance.
