
Pune Police’s Cyber Police Station has started a dedicated helpline (7058719371 or 7058719375) to provide immediate help to the citizens in case of cybercrime.
Bhagyashree Navtake, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Economic Offences Wing (EOW) and Cyber Crime, said, “In case of online fraud, the complainants need to report such incidents to the Cyber Police Station immediately (Golden Hour). Often citizens do not even know where and how to complain. Cyber police helpline would enable them to immediately complain about the concerned bank and it will help to stop transactions diverted to the thief’s account.”
If a thief makes a transaction, the bank will be contacted immediately if the screenshot, message, bank name, account number, debit card, credit card number, link, mobile number are sent to the WhatsApp helpline number of the cyber police. This will help to curb the fraud perpetrated by cyber thieves.
Cyber police appealed:
– Do not download the mobile cloning app.
– Do not open unauthorized/unknown links.
– Do not share OTP number or debit card, credit card information on mobile.
– Contact the cyber police helpline number immediately after online fraud.
– Verify the contact number from the official website when contacting customer care.
