Forcepoint has announced its acquisition of Getvisibility, an Irish data security posture management startup, to enhance its AI-driven data classification and risk assessment capabilities. This move aligns with the growing demand for integrated data security solutions, as enterprises and CISOs seek streamlined, end-to-end protection rather than fragmented tools.
Ryan Windham, CEO of Forcepoint, emphasized that customer demand for deeper integrations between the two companies had outgrown the limits of their OEM agreement. The acquisition will allow Forcepoint to fully integrate Getvisibility’s AI-driven security solutions, providing a more comprehensive approach to data discovery and risk mitigation.
Founded in 2017, Getvisibility employs 50 people and has raised nearly $15 million in funding, with its latest Series A round led by Alpha Intelligence Capital and Fortino Capital. The company's AI Mesh technology, based on multiple small language models instead of a single monolithic AI, allows for tailored security applications across various industries, reducing false positives and improving threat detection.
Windham noted that traditional rule-based security models often miss nuanced threats or generate excessive false positives. Getvisibility’s AI Mesh dynamically adjusts based on data, context, and user behavior, improving the accuracy of risk assessments. This integration will strengthen Forcepoint’s capabilities in data security posture management, automated risk assessment, and real-time threat response.
By embedding Getvisibility’s AI Mesh into its existing data protection solutions, Forcepoint will offer CISOs a unified security dashboard, improving visibility across SaaS, cloud, on-premises, and AI environments. The integration will streamline reporting, workflow management, and data classification, providing security teams with better tools for proactive threat mitigation.
Forcepoint’s expanded AI-driven capabilities will help security teams detect and respond to risks with greater efficiency. The acquisition is expected to drive revenue growth, improve operational efficiencies, and enhance Forcepoint’s competitive edge in cybersecurity.
Windham highlighted that success will be measured through revenue growth, ARR, and product integration progress. The goal is to simplify security management by giving CISOs a single dashboard for prioritizing vulnerabilities, managing data loss risks, and automating remediation.
