Google Meet has received a new update that adds a noise cancellation feature to the app. This may sound like a small update but, on the contrary, this new feature will help enhance the meeting experience. Users won’t need any adjustments to the app’s settings to use the noise cancellation feature.
By joining a meeting on specific Google Meet hardware devices, users will be able to take advantage of the noise cancellation feature in Google Meet. This feature is also available for the meeting organiser’s Google Workspace edition.
However, it is important to note that if any user has the noise cancellation feature enabled, it will remain active in all meetings regardless of whether the meeting organiser has it or not.
Some Google Workspace accounts have this feature enabled by their organisations by default. These users can also use this feature in meetings with other people from outside, but only during that particular meeting.
The accounts where this new feature is enabled by default for Google Workspace are — Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard, Frontline, Enterprise Plus and Workspace Individual Subscriber. The noise cancellation feature will not be enabled by default for accounts like — Education Plus, Teaching and Learning Upgrade accounts.
