The Government of Andhra Pradesh has entered into an agreement with Google under which the tech giant will help the state in adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in various fields including healthcare, and also give a fillip to the local startup ecosystem there. While supporting the state’s startup ecosystem, the collaboration will also focus on promoting skill development and bridging the digital divide by providing citizens with the necessary training and resources to thrive in an AI-driven economy.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in Amaravati in the presence of Nara Lokesh, Andhra Pradesh's Minister of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, and Human Resources Development; Bikram Singh Bedi, Vice President and Country Managing Director of Google Cloud India; and S. Suresh Kumar, Secretary of the Real-Time Governance Society, Andhra Pradesh.

Through this initiative, Google plans to collaborate with the Andhra Pradesh government, industry leaders, and academic institutions to integrate AI across various sectors. Key focus areas include education, healthcare, agriculture, and public services, where AI can significantly enhance efficiency, improve decision-making, and drive innovation.
In education, Google aims to introduce AI-powered learning tools that adapt to students' needs, making learning more personalized and effective. In healthcare, AI is expected to revolutionize diagnostics and patient care by enabling faster and more accurate medical insights. Agriculture, a crucial sector for Andhra Pradesh, will benefit from AI-driven solutions for crop monitoring, pest control, and yield prediction, enhancing productivity and sustainability.
Additionally, Google plans to host workshops, hackathons, and training programs to build AI expertise among the state’s youth and professionals. By fostering an ecosystem of innovation, Google seeks to empower Andhra Pradesh to become a leader in AI-driven growth, setting an example for other states in India.
