
India is going with the 5G is the fifth-generation cellular network technology in the 5G generation that is designed and built in India. At last India is ready join the 5G league with the launch of commercial services . Reliance Jio emerged as the top bidder, followed by Airtel and Vi.
With the changing connectivity needs, rising mobile data traffic and a new category of connected-ecosystem products, there is a need for a yet newer generation of mobile networks.
5G is expected to provide consumers with better data rates and open up a variety of new use cases. Union Minister of State for Information Technology Rajeev Chandrashekhar on 2 August said that India is now among the leading countries and one of the first to deliver indigenous 5G.
Before the end of the August month, Airtel has already stated that it will start rolling out 5G, it became the first company to confirm its 5G rollout plans. It announced Airtel 5G services will begin in August, while the pan-India rollout is likely to be completed by 2024.
Whereas Reliance Jio is rumoured to be planning an announcement for this Independence Day. However, the company did not formally announce the roll out,but Akash Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Jio, announced that they will celebrate “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” with a 5G rollout across India.
Although 5G rollouts will start this month, they may initially only be available in a few Tier-I zones, such as metro areas. This is because 5G testing had already been going on in certain locations for several months. In the initial phase of its rollout, Airtel is reportedly targeting 5000 towns and cities while starting with 1000 towns and cities across the nation.
However, complete coverage of 5G is anticipated to occur in rural locations by 2023 or 2024, delaying the wider implementation of the technology by months in Tier-II and Tier-III districts.
