InMobi’s Lucknow centre, among the first deep-tech firms to harness local talent, will specialize in Generative AI, MLOps, automation, and AI infrastructure, aiming to recruit 500 experts and create approximately 3,000 jobs, boosting the economy
Global AI tech leader InMobi has announced the launch of a new technology centre in Lucknow, marking a strategic expansion of its global innovation network and signalling a push to decentralize India’s tech ecosystem.
As one of the first major deep-tech firms to tap into Lucknow’s rising tech talent pool, InMobi’s new centre will focus on advanced areas such as Generative AI, Machine Learning Operations (MLOps), automation, and large-scale AI infrastructure development. The company plans to recruit around 500 engineers, product specialists, and data scientists over the coming years, generating an estimated 3,000 direct and indirect jobs, thereby providing a significant boost to the local economy.
Supporting Uttar Pradesh’s $1T vision
This initiative aligns closely with the Uttar Pradesh government’s ambition to transform the state into a $1 trillion economy by 2029, leveraging its growing pool of technical talent and educational institutions.

“At InMobi, we believe that exceptional talent is not confined to metro cities but thrives where there is ambition and opportunity,” said Mohit Saxena, co-founder and Group CTO of InMobi and Glance. “Building our presence in Lucknow represents a long-term commitment to developing a vibrant deep-tech ecosystem beyond traditional urban centres. We will invest in local talent, collaborate with academia, and build cutting-edge products for global markets right here in Uttar Pradesh.”
Bridging academia and industry in Lucknow
Lucknow’s strategic location near premier institutions such as IIT Kanpur, IIIT Lucknow, IIM Lucknow, and MNNIT Allahabad makes it an ideal hub for nurturing future-ready tech skills. InMobi plans to work closely with these institutes to provide internships, upskilling programs, and hands-on product training, helping bridge the gap between academia and industry.
Shefali Rai, Chief Human Resources Officer at InMobi and Glance, added, “Our goal is to enable talented professionals to pursue world-class careers without leaving their hometowns, fostering an inclusive culture that blends global innovation with local roots.”
The Lucknow centre is part of InMobi’s broader innovation strategy following its $200 million AI investment earlier this year, including the launch of Glance AI, an AI-driven commerce platform aimed at transforming global retail experiences. The company aims to accelerate innovation and foster sustainable tech ecosystems by expanding beyond India’s traditional metropolitan hubs.
