Many Instagram users reported that the app was telling them their account had been suspended. Some users have also reported that their account has been locked.
Soon after this, Instagram tweeted that they are aware of the problems and are looking into it, without any further comment on the suspension of the accounts, which probably seems like a bug. A few users have also complained about losing followers on the photo-sharing platform, but the company has not stated anything regarding it.
In an apology, Instagram tweeted: “We’ve resolved this bug now -- it was causing people in different parts of the world to have issues accessing their accounts and caused a temporary change for some in the number of followers. Sorry.”
The Instagram policy stated that they might disable certain accounts that violate community guidelines, such as illegal, bullying, hate speech, spam, or violating intellectual property rights. Twitter was also trending with hashtag #InstagramDown, as hundreds of users experienced similar issues logging in to their accounts.
